Carole Ames photoCarole Ames, MTC, Dip.C, BES, is dynamic, compassionate and direct. With degrees in both planning and counselling, she has forged a full and successful career in planning, management and human relations. She has cultivated her humour, creativity and integrity and blended these attributes in her work with individuals, groups, businesses and government agencies.

Carole's first career was as a professional planner and she held positions in a number of communities across Canada including Director of Planning for the City of Yellowknife. Later she shifted her focus to the social service sector and was with the Vancouver Crisis Centre for several years, as well as establishing a private counselling practice.

Her planning, management and counselling interests converged when she moved into a management position at a personal growth centre (The Haven Resort & Institute) where she was directly involved in all aspects of the business from marketing through operations.

Carole and Bill photoIn 2002 she left her management position at The Haven to form Creative Pursuits. She continues to be involved with The Haven on a contractual basis, as Director of International Relations and as a member of the Core Faculty.

Carole brings her pragmatism, passion for life, and accomplished communication skills to everything she tackles. One of her personal interests has been the exploration of acting, including comedy. She has appeared in a number of productions, and has also directed a one-woman show. Another passion is her personal and professional relationship with her husband Bill. After being single for most of her adult life, she is enjoying the intimacy, discovery and fun of this primary relationship.
